The Mahalakshmi program offers comprehensive services without religious restrictions. Eligibility will be extended to women belonging to the BPL card family, so they can also get the benefits of the system.

The Mahalakshmi program was announced by the Indian National Congress (INC) with the aim of encouraging and promoting women in society. The Maha Lakshmi Scheme is one of the six guarantees offered by the Indian National Congress(INC) in Telangana state during the Telangana state Legislative Assembly Election 2023. Introduction

The Mahalakshmi scheme is similar to the gruha Lakshmi scheme introduced by the Congress government in Telangana Karnataka with some differences including cash benefits and two additional benefits compared to the Mahalakshmi scheme.

Mahalakshmi Scheme Eligibility Criteria

1. The scheme does not impose any religious restrictions. Women from families with PPL cards are eligible for benefits under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
2. Around 10 lakh women in Telangana are expected to receive cash under the Mahalakshmi scheme. Eligible beneficiaries will get a cash benefit of Rs 2,500 per month which will be directly credited to their bank account.
